&lt;p&gt;Summer in the UK means one thing, festivals. We couldn’t help ourselves this year to jump on the bandwagon and join the circuit. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;We’ve been asked to be part of the &lt;a href="http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/areas/the-beat-hotel/" target="_blank"&gt;Beat Hotel&lt;/a&gt; and designed a super tasty blend called Beat Brew (50% Rwanda Gisuma 50% Colombia Villa Esperanza) roasted by the good folk at &lt;a href="http://www.volcanocoffeeworks.com/" target="_blank"&gt;Volcano Coffee Works&lt;/a&gt;. &lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;a href="http://pexmas.com/" target="_blank"&gt;MUNCH&lt;/a&gt; 13th &amp; 14th of July &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;A food festival for Peckham we are going to be doing a ten minute TED style talk and also hosting a coffee tasting on the Saturday. &lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.latitudefestival.com/" target="_blank"&gt;Latitude Festival&lt;/a&gt; 19th to 21st July &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;We have been invited to host a morning coffee tasting and festival coffee survival class to kickstart the days.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;  We have been lucky to have the opportunity to be working in Hong Kong this summer and experience the hustle of this eclectic city. As we have many food &amp; beverage contacts both here and from HK, we are very aware of the diverse scene within the coffee industry there.  So we went to do what we often do best, we drank coffee, lots of coffee. This is often the best way to meet people, discover places and gain knowledge about any city. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;  There has been an undercurrent of quality lead coffee businesses here for quite some time, but just like London, they are often a hidden gem which are unknown to the masses. Most bars have several espresso options on offer along with a variety of filters and alternative brewing methods to choose from. Every bar, no matter how small, still manages to facilitate bar seating in order to obtain quality conversation while brewing. Most of which are happy to discuss technic, and share knowledge to eager ears.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;  There is a sense of change, of awareness, desire to learn , which is evolving rapidly to fit that of what London, Melbourne, Portland or LA are now more accustomed to. You can feel a similar energy to that of London 5 years ago. Customers are traveling to attain quality, people are excited to buy fresh coffees and brew at home and accept a change in taste, style and flavour. This is possibly the beginning of a very rapid growth spurt, which already has a solid foundation to stand on. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;span&gt;Incredible colour footage of 1920s London shot by an early British pioneer of film named Claude Friese-Greene, who made a series of travelogues using the colour process his father William - a noted cinematographer - was experimenting with. It’s like a beautifully dusty old postcard you’d find in a junk store, but moving.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Music by Jonquil and Yann Tiersen.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The lovely people at the BFI have got in touch and it turns out the film was made in 1926. They have lots of other footage from his film, The Open Road on their YouTube channel up here &lt;a href="http://bit.ly/1920sEngland" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"&gt;bit.ly/1920sEngland&lt;/a&gt;. This developed using an anchoring system based on the tensions exerted on the parts, avoiding additional fixing elements such as screws or adhesives and use of assembly tools.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;span&gt;Its packaging is part of the assembly process making it more comfortable and intuitive.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;span&gt;The materials used are totally respectful of the environment.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Coffee is one of the world’s favourite drinks, one of the most important commercial crop-plants, and the second most valuable international commodity; Arabica coffee is considered to produce the finest coffee beans.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Production of coffee helps support the livelihood of 25 million farming families around the world and it is estimated that around 32 pairs of hands are involved in bringing coffee from the plantation to the cup.&lt;/p&gt;
